Event Info
Race Overview
A stunningly beautiful course in the scenic town of Leavenworth, Washington. Marathoners will start near the renowned Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Runners will run a fast course that begins with a 10 mile journey through Icicle Canyon, transitions to trails along the Icicle River, passes through the National Fish Hatchery to East Leavenworth Road, crossed the bridge into the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth to follow wooded riverfront parks and trails, eventually meeting up with Icicle Road, which leads back to one more trip around the Icicle River trails and to the Finish and roar of the crowd at the Hatchery and event center. In this amazing course, runners will encounter a mix of paved roads and paths, dirt roads, paths and trails. Surrounded by impressive mountains, participants might see salmon spawning in the rivers or four legged creatures cheering from the edge of the wild!
The marathon is limited to runners who will complete the course within the six hour time limit, due to course restrictions. Walkers are welcome in the half marathon category. The half marathon course is open for four hours.

About Leavenworth. Leavenworth is Washington’s “Bavarian Village” located 2.5 hours east of the Puget Sound region and borders the Wenatchee/Okanagan National Forest and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Leavenworth hosts an Oktoberfest style celebration each year with music, parades, food (and of course, beverages) and activities for children and adults all month long. A great race will add to your unique experience in Leavenworth on race weekend!
Partnerships are key to our success and your experience. We are very proud of the partnerships we have forged with the United States Department of Fish and Wildlife, United States Forest Service, Washington State Department of Transportation, Chelan County, the City of Leavenworth, and our friends and neighbors in Leavenworth, without whom this event would not be possible.
Support Cancer Research
The Leavenworth Marathon is operated by TedDriven, an organization that supports cancer research and local charities. Cancer research is a special interest and concern to the directors. Everyone knows someone who has suffered through cancer, and your race directors, Lynda, Colin Wendy & Ian, have all been directly impacted by life with cancer and are committed to doing their part to fight the disease. TedDriven annually invests proceeds from the Leavenworth Marathon to a leading global cancer biology lab and to a local cancer support organization.
